This upload of two files completes the “The YarnShifting Manual”. The two files are is the appendices and back cover.
Meanwhile this week a different creative project appeared in the garden, resurrected from a previous installation. She is the original guardian of a 12m geodesic greenhouse I built. I gave away the greenhouse to a community project. It took a week to deconstruct it and rebuild it elsewhere. But I decided to keep the guardian.
Plus of course, since this is a textile channel too, a couple of photos of finished yarnshifted projects.
First the book downloads:
CREATIVE PROJECTS -5
(i).SHAWL
A yarnshifted alpaca shawl from two triangles hooked together …
(ii).SKIRT
Made from yarnshifted triangles …
(iii).GEODESIC GREENHOUSE
I built a 12m geodesic greenhouse …
… but he was a bit lonely and vulnerable and needed a guardian angel, so I built one …
… and the two were happy together …
… but then one day in 2024 the quinta (small-holding farm) got sold and the dome got deconstructed and taken away … and the angel, with its wings blown off in a storm felt all forlorn, so she was carefully carried home, languished and neglected over winter and this week was rebuilt in her creator’s garden (not far from the dragon) …
… and whilst photographing her this morning, she said to me “I’d like my wings back too” and when I get back from holiday she will get them … I promise … because I don’t argue with angels who are 3 metres tall.
… to be continued …
… because you may be wondering …
… what these eight shapes in my workshop are all about …
Oh I just love this Josh. You have so much fun being creative. It's what its all about. Everyone needs one of your guardian angels! ❤️
